About UFC Fight Night

UFC Fight Night began in August 6, 2005, just four months after the highly successful first season of The Ultimate Fighter. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) proved to be the rebirth of the UFC launching Mixed Martial Arts into the homes of millions as it was broadcast live on Spike TV, and the addition of UFC Fight Night events was an extension of this. The first UFC Fight Night featured many of the favorites from that first season of TUF and continued the new partnership with Spike TV to feature UFC events for free on the cable TV network. Now 2010, the UFC is set for their 20th UFC Fight Night event in January. While Anderson Silva's move up to Light Heavyweight (205 pounds) to defeat James Irvin was great for ratings, the fights between Gray Maynard vs Roger Huerta and Nate Diaz vs Melvin Guillard at UFC Fight Night 19 proved to pack a punch of excitement as UFN 19 was widely reagarded by fans as one of the best night of free fights in recent memory.
